Resurfacing: Navigating Life's Challenges and the Long Hiatus from Writing

It's been quite a while since I last wrote down my thoughts, mainly because the past year has been a whirlwind in my life. Have you ever experienced a year where it felt like everything was turned upside down? I'm certain I'm not alone in this feeling. Such is the nature of life, isn't it? Sometimes, a barrage of challenges hits us all at once, leaving us feeling discouraged, overwhelmed, or deeply saddened, almost as if we want to retreat from the world. It's a rather sad way to kick off a blog, isn't it?

Sharing stories with an audience becomes effortless when life is filled with joy and excitement. But what does one say when numerous family members are unwell, work feels like an uphill battle, and exhaustion clouds the mind? Personally, I found it impossible to conjure a single witty thought. So, I chose the easier path—I stopped writing. I blamed it on the lack of time or having nothing substantial to say.

How do you react when faced with challenges? Do you seek solace in a cherished book, decline social invitations, or dodge incoming calls to avoid questions and advice? Escaping seems like the simple solution, doesn't it?

In my entire life, I recall only one other instance where I wished to be totally alone. Does it help? Not at all, and we all know that it doesn't.

Thank goodness for my faith! When I find myself wallowing in self-pity, I am reminded that even in my loneliest moments, God is by my side. Though I may feel isolated, He never leaves. Despite my strong faith, there are times I forget that God is my constant companion and source of strength. If you're feeling low, despondent, or on the verge of giving up, know that God is with you. You might wonder how I can be so sure. I believe that tough times draw us closer to Him; He's our pillar of strength. The book of Isaiah holds a special place in my heart, its verses serve as a source of comfort during life's struggles. I plan to write more frequently from now on, so stay tuned! I am so grateful for my relationship with God and for the dear friends who consistently extended their support, holding my hand through both their presence and God's grace.

Isaiah 43:2

When you pass through the waters,

I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers,

they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire,

you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

Isaiah 41:10

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
