Life Takes an Unexpected Turn

As adults, we know that unexpected things happen. We see our friends dealing with health issues, divorce, loss of work, even the loss of a long time friend or spouse. The older we get, "the unexpected" can become the norm. None of us can anticipate something that blindsides us....it often takes our breath away. We need to take a breath and pray to determine our next steps.

How have you handled an unexpected crisis or life event? I often cry and then try to put on my "BIG Girl" panties in order to be strong for the family. Then, I am reminded to pray for wisdom and guidance (which is the only way I can address an issue or challenge).

We often hear...it will be ok! I sometimes would like to say "leave me alone - you aren't living this" but, that doesn't solve the problem...does it? I can see my mother shaking her head.

Throughout the years, I've faced challenging events that I doubted I could manage. Life felt chaotic, much like being in a busy city with no clear directions. I find God often reminds me that every twist and turn serves a purpose. I am never alone on my journey because He is by my side.

Are you experiencing a crisis or feel extremely overwhelmed in your daily life today? A close friend of mine often says to me..."Tina, lay it at the foot of the cross and let it go!". I used to roll my eyes, but I have learned from her wisdom and continue to be reminded that God knows it all and He cares for me. Today, when the unexpected happens or the chaotic parts of your life intrude, all you need to do is entrust it to Him, having faith in Him regardless of the outcome.
