A Flank Steak Grill Recipe: A Sizzling Flamin' Guide

Anyone can marinate and grill this easy recipe!

This week, we had a dinner party for a friend who use in town to visit. I decided cook my favorite Flank Steak recipe would be perfect for serving dinner with friends. This recipe offers a robust beefy taste, despite its low fat content, making it an economical choice for steak enthusiasts. If you are not sure where this meat comes from...it's the belly muscle of cow, it can become tough if cooked too long. The recipe below is one that I use to ensure my flank steak is both flavorful and tender. I like to marinate the beef overnight as it enhances the flavor when grilling this type of beef. If you are short on time, try to marinate the flank steak for at least 3 hours. When you purchase Flank Steak, you will find it is often packed with two slabs of beef so it serves more people.

Lets talk about grilling: Be sure to have the proper grilling utensil! Check out Amazon for great Grill Utensils if you are just starting out. I use long tongs so the heat doesn't burn my hands! To get ready for grilling the beef, heat up your grill to medium high and brush the grate with oil. You will discover that your guest will enjoy this dinner so much that they will request a copy of this recipe! Cooking is a great way to share the love of food with family and friends.

Prep. Time: 10 mins and marinate in the refrigerator for 3 - 10 hrs.

Cook Time: 6 mins each side

Servings: 6 guests

Ingredients:

• 1 ½ pounds flank steak

• 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary

• 1 teaspoon salt

• ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

• ½ onion, chopped

• 3 cloves garlic, chopped

• ¼ cup olive oil

• ¼ cup balsamic vinegar

• ¼ cup soy sauce

• 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1. Whisk chopped onion, garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, rosemary, salt, and pepper together in a mixing bowl.

2. Put the flank steak in a large resealable plastic bag. Pour marinade into the bag and coat

both sides of the steak with the marinade. Squeeze excess air from the bag and seal. Marinate in the refrigerator at least 3 hrs, up to 1 day.

3. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.

4. Remove the flank steak from the marinade and reserve the marinade.

5. Cook steak until firm, hot in the center, and just turning from pink to grey, 6 minutes

per side, brushing occasionally with reserved marinade.

Insert an instant-read thermometer into the center of the beef. When it reads 150 degrees F (65 degrees C) remove steak to a cutting board and allow to rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly across the grain.

Tip: If you wish to serve extra marinade with the finished beef, pour marinade into a small

saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 10

minutes.
